I'm fundraising for
Rare Cancers Australia in the Corporate Clash in Macarthur! This annual event was an initiative of Mark Scarce and Grant Butterfield, commencing in 2014. Grant sadly passed away from rare cancer in 2020 and this event is his legacy.
It helps to raise awareness and much-needed funds for carefully selected, low-administration, local charities, organisations and individuals. This year's main event beneficiary is Rare Cancers Australia (RCA), who help provide support to Australians diagnosed with rare, less common or complex cancer. RCA stands in the patients corner and their support knows no limits,.
On Saturday, 2nd August 2025, I will be fighting for the 40,000 Australians diagnosed with a rare cancer each year and to help RCA.
Every dollar raised from this fundraising page will help provide specially made support packs to all of RCA's patients, that's more than 1,000 each year. These support packs help to bring joy to people going through one of the hardest chapters of their lives.
RCA is a Federal Government-classified Health Promotion Charity. All donations are fully tax deductible.
Thank you so much for your support.

Wednesday 16th JulThank You β Weβve Hit the Target (and Then Some!) π
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to this incredible cause. Thanks to your generosity, Iβve hit my original fundraising target β and Iβve now raised the bar to $6,000! Along the way, we had the chance to hear from the team atΒ Rare Cancers Australia, who reminded us just how vital this funding is. Every dollar truly makes a difference.
Cancer has affected all of our lives in some way β whether itβs a friend, a family member, or even our own journey β and we all know how tough that battle is, not just for the person fighting it, but for everyone around them. Thatβs why Iβm so passionate about raising even more.
Fight Night Is Nearly Here! π₯
Itβs hard to believe that 10 weeks of training have flown by! Itβs been challenging, fun, and incredibly rewarding. Our group has bonded through every tough session, and the friendships weβve built have been one of the best parts of this journey.
With just two weeks to go until fight night, Iβll be honest β Iβm not the fittest, the most agile, or a natural boxer by any stretch. But Iβve put everything I have into this. The idea of stepping into the ring is definitely scary, and Iβve struggled with all sorts of things (even just breathing properly Β π). Footwork, defence β landing a punch might just be a bonus!
But Iβm determined. Iβve trained hard, and Iβm going to give it everything Iβve got.
If you havenβt donated yet and would like to support this amazing cause, please consider contributing. Every bit helps.
Thank you again β letβs keep fighting for those who canβt. π

Week 4 Update
Sunday 1st Junπ₯Β End of Week 4 Training Update β Corporate ClashΒ π₯
Four weeks down, and the gloves areΒ well and trulyΒ on! π₯
This past month has been a rollercoaster of sweat, sore muscles, and progress. Every session pushes me beyond my comfort zone β tighter footwork, sharper combos, and a whole new respect for how tough this sport really is.
Weβre now just two weeks away from the halfway mark of training. The bodyβs feeling it, but the drive to step into the ring for such a meaningful cause is stronger than ever.
Massive respect to the trainers and volunteers who give up their time β week in, week out β to coach, guide, and cheer us on. And they do it year after year! π
Iβm genuinely starting to enjoy training. Itβs still super challenging, and Iβve got a lot to learn, but Iβm all in.
π A heartfelt thank you to everyone whoβs donated so far. Your support means the world. If you havenβt yet had a chance, thereβs still time to chip in. Every dollar goes toward helping kick cancerβs arse. Letβs do this together. πͺ

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable
Monday 12th MayWEEK 1 βΒ
Monday Night β Meet & Greet
Kicked things off with a meet and greet of the Clash board and this yearβs participants.First group photo snapped, and we got our boxing kits β gloves, wraps, shirt, hoodie, and gear bag. Drinks in hand, we listened to some inspiring words. One line hit hard and kept coming up:Β βGet comfortable with being uncomfortable.βΒ
Sunday Afternoon β Technical Session
Attended Β the Training Ground for a session on basics β stance, hand wrapping, breathing. Just when we thought it was all theoryβ¦ surprise! A mini training session to wake up our bodies and give us a taste of whatβs to come.
Tuesday Night β First Official Training
Β A 10-minute warm-up thatΒ absolutely smashed me. My gym workouts that I had recently started just didnβt cut it . We split into two groups: one hit the bags, the other cycled through burpees, sit-ups, skipping, sparring, and footwork. Ended with planksβ¦ and I barely lasted 20 seconds.
Thursday Night β Weigh-In + More Grit
Weigh-in time β wasΒ notΒ expecting to see the scales jump up (metabolism shift, maybe?). Another split session with more of everything: bags, drills, sweat, and sore muscles. Showing up and learning.
One week down. A long way to go. But weβre in it.

I couldn’t be prouder of my wife. She’s always led with a big heart, but now she’s showing incredible strength by putting both her heart and body on the line. Stepping into the ring for the Corporate Clash, she’s taking on a life-changing challenge with courage, grit, and determination. Her bravery inspires me more than words can say.
Good luck Pip ππβ€οΈ
