In loving memory of Leigh Walker

Leigh was diagnosed with hemangiopericytoma in 2017. Neither of us had heard of it. It is an extremely rare cancer, accounting for approximately just 3% of soft tissue sarcomas in adults. We soon learnt that rare cancers, receive very little funding for research, so Leigh wanted to set up a memorial/donation page in the hope that his story can make a difference. We owe it to others like Leigh & their families, to advocate for better prevention, diagnosis & treatment measures. Without this focus, we cannot hope to have an impact on improved patient outcomes. But, there is always hope.
Rare Cancers Australia Ltd is a charity whose purpose is to improve the lives & health outcomes of people living with rare & less common cancers. Their key areas of focus include: Creating a Patient Community, Advocacy, Patient Support Programs, Fundraising, Treatment & Research along with Early Diagnosis.
