In loving memory of Chris Rice

I hope that through your kind actions a difference will be made for those affected by less common cancers. My dad suffered from Urachal adenocarcinoma which is considered a highly aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis, accounting for less than 1% of all bladder cancers. Being a rare disease, there is little information in terms of treatment and management. The shortage of data about diagnosis and treatment makes it difficult for clinicians to make a decision. Urachal adenocarcinoma is usually diagnosed at advanced stages, with approximately 20% of patients having distant metastasis when first diagnosed. Moreover, up to 59% of patients may face some form of metastasis at some point in the evolution of the disease with the lung, bone and liver being the most commonly involved organs. My dad's cancer had metastasized to various parts of his body making things difficult to manage.

My dad was a super hardworking, thoughtful, kind and funny dude, I wish that we could have had way more time with him. Hopefully, through your kind actions, awareness is raised and research can be found to help others, so no one else has to lose their favourite person like me and my family did. Thank you so very much.
