In Australia, around 52,000 people are diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer each year.
That’s one person diagnosed every 10 minutes.
Their treatment options are limited, the financial burden crippling, and the barriers faced can be overwhelming.
For many of these patients, hope is rare.
But it is not lost.
You can give the gift of hope this Christmas by supporting Rare Cancers Australia (RCA).
Your tax-deductible donation will help us to provide personalised practical, emotional and financial support to more Australians living with rare, less common and complex cancers.
Don’t forget to write a message of hope! This will be delivered to patients and families in the lead up to Christmas - because no Australian should have to go through their cancer journey alone.
Show people living with rare cancer that they are not alone
Rare Cancers Australia actively supports over 600 Australians at any one time living with a rare, less common or complex cancer.
Australians like Rob, husband and carer of rare cancer patient, Danielle.
“I can list 10 or 15 things that Rare Cancers Australia did to support us, but the number one thing, the most important thing, was just being there when we needed them,” said Rob.
“Just being able to talk to someone who’d been there, who understood, who knew what the issues were, what the processes were – for me, that was the most important thing, more than anything.”
Your tax-deductible donation will help to ensure that Australian families have access to a dedicated Specialist Cancer Navigator, someone to walk them through every step of their rare cancer journey. No matter how complex the challenges, no matter how hard it gets.
Your donation could also help with the financial hardship that comes with a diagnosis, by helping patients pay for costly pharmacy items and essential scans.
No Australian should have to go through their cancer journey alone. With your support, they won’t have to.
